No Smiling!!!

In Indiana you are not allowed to smile anymore on your driver’s license photo.

Just so you know.

Suspicious.

If this happens in Ohio, I am protesting.

Protesting with a “smile”.

Plastic Spoons…

grapefruit

I eat in between calls at work. To accomplish this I snack on fruit and such because it is good for you .

Today I attempted to eat a grapefruit while working and did it with a plastic spoon and knife.

While a delicate process, it proved to be useless when compared to regular metal utensils.

I am just sayin.

Don’t use plastic spoons on grapefruit.

Rock Show…

Went to a show the other night. It had been a while since I saw a few bands together…

There was an amazing mix of older people trying to look younger…

Younger people attempting to look older, and more unique. (and by unique they were stating with their cut-off sleeves and tattoos showing that they were different)

Mullets ablaze with the sterling silver jewlery glistening in the arena lights.

Black shirts and black skin-tight jeans on men and women.

The bands all used the stage as a platform to speak of important topics such as:

1. How rock is not really dead, and it is very alive. He proves this point using the reasoning that everyone came out on a sunday night to hear the concert…

2. How pretty everyone in the crowd is on a sunday night…

3. How a microphone could be held in an explicit fashion to insinuate gestures that grown ups can do together…

4. How if you spray water up in the air right as the drummer hits the drum, you too can look like a rockstar…

5. My favorite: Crowd participation. This is when the singer of the band says “I want you all to scream and get the F$#@ up!” and 1,000 sweaty kids packed onto the floor try to start jumping up and down only to find that they can only move up and down on their tippy-toes due to space limitations with the environment that they are in. I think the only band I would ever want to “jump” to would be Rage Against the Machine or Korn. Not some quartet of 20 year old kids on their first tour.

After recognizing all of this, I have come to the realization that I am getting old.

Talking like this makes me sound like an adult not in touch with the current scene.

ugh.

Rock on.

Sometimes you just need a hug. I understand this. My question is why you would need a hug from a bear? A two hundred plus pound bear with big hands and teeth that could squish you and make you into his own personal G.I. Joe?

This guy needed that hug.

hmph.

(i am ending with a ‘hmph’ because i am at a loss for words)

Song of The Day…

Apparently on super cool blogs, some people identify a “song of the day” at the bottom of the page. A person I saw doing this was Meghan McCain on her dad’s campaign trail. Every day at the bottom of the page, you would have a “song of the day”. For example on election day the song was “Don’t Stop Believin” by Journey.

I have decided that every blog post I write from here on out will have a “song of the day” attatched to it. This song will be used to describe what my deepest emotions and passions that fill me within the moment are trying to say. Life will be described, thoughts will be provided, wisdom shall be found through each and every one of these songs that I offer. You will find a reflection of the man behind this blog through the lyrical journey put forth in these songs. If you don’t find any of that in the song that I provide, that is cool too. Mostly, I just want to try and get more hits on my blog. To do this I will put some famous bands name and song on my page, and hopefully get a “Google Search” hit from it.

Haha…

so yeah. keep an eye out for new “or old” songs that I am throwin’ out on here.

My Vision Statement…

November 19, 2008 · 3 Comments

 vision

I have been sitting on what my “vision” is for the endeavour that I am currently pursuing in life. Without a vision, I will be lost within the first couple weeks of what I am doing. The things to take into consideration while I am figuring this out starts out with my beliefs. My vision should be all-encompassing to my beliefs and who I am. These beliefs must be practical, precise, and reflect the philosophy and angle that I am coming from. It will help with my organizational goals and provide a visible declaration of the expected outcomes that I am looking for.

Here is what I believe:

1. We are all given unique personalities and gifts for a purpose.

2. The quality of a company begins with the character of the person(s) providing the service.

3. Anyone of any social class should be able to experience any service that I offer through my company.

4. My passion for music should show through in any environment that I am hired for.

5. No occasion that anyone would like to celebrate is off limits to good music.

6. Music is a universal language that can bring people together unconditionally.

A vision is defined as: An image of the future we seek to create.

My vision statement:

“To become the local company that changes the world through music.”

JT and Beyonce…

Justin Timberlake did a skit on SNL with Beyonce this past weekend.

This got me thinking:

If I made millions, how far would I go in the public eye to show how funny/cool I was?

Would I dress up like this?

Dance like this?

Sell this?

Live in this crib?

Own a house on this island?

33 Degrees…

While losing myself in the idea of relaxing over the weekend, our heat quit workin’.

Much to my dismay, it quit workin’ on a really cold day when the temp got down into the thirties.

We have one space heater.

It traveled from the bedroom, to the bathroom, to the living room, and to the bedroom all by the end of the day.

You know what else?

It worked.

I am cold though. I am very sorry that my wife is cold too. So now I have to get it fixed.

Here’s to fixing heaters.

Our Dogs…

So here is our new Pup “Rudy”.

He’s a schnoodle and he likes to eat his own poop.

Other than that, he is adapting well to being the new younger brother to “Booker” our other dog.

Thinking About It…

November 14, 2008 · 1 Comment

Starting this grass roots marketing campaign for my new side job.

Got the business cards. Got the blog page. Got the gear. Got the references.

Now, the creative part starts up.

The business plan, the marketing, the vision.

I am thinking about the vision this weekend…

I will let you know what I figure out in a bit…
